Terms of sale

These terms apply to every order placed on windows-keys.net.

What we sell

We sell software licences and the right to use them. Everything in this store is digital: there is nothing to ship, and no physical item will ever arrive.

Most products are supplied as a licence key — a code you enter into software you install yourself. The product page states what each edition includes before you buy.

We are an independent reseller. We are not the publisher of the software we sell, and we are not acting as their agent.

Who can buy

You may order if you are able to enter a contract in your own country. You can order with an account or as a guest; both receive the same licence and the same support.

The email address you give us is the address we deliver to and the address we use to identify your order. Please make sure it is one you can reach.

Placing an order

Adding something to your basket does not reserve it. Your order is formed when your payment is confirmed by our payment provider — not when you press the button.

Every total is recalculated on our servers from the live catalogue at the moment you pay. Prices sent by your browser are never trusted, so the amount charged always matches the current listed price for the edition you chose.

If a price or a product description is obviously wrong, we may decline the order and refund you in full rather than supply on the mistaken terms.

Prices, currency and tax

Prices are shown in euro and include VAT at the rate configured for this store. The rate applied to your order and the tax amount are both shown on the checkout page before you pay, and again on your invoice.

The invoice we issue records the tax treatment that applied to your specific order at the time you paid, so your own records match ours.

Payment

Payments are handled by PayPal, which accepts PayPal balances and payment cards. Your payment is taken as a single capture at the point of purchase; we do not place a hold and charge you later.

Card details are entered into fields hosted by PayPal, not by us. Your card number and security code are never sent to this website, never reach our servers, and are never written to our database or our logs.

If a payment is confirmed by the provider but our records do not yet show it, the order is reconciled automatically when the provider notifies us. You are charged once per order.

Delivery

Licences are delivered digitally and are normally ready within seconds of payment. Delivery means the licence is allocated to your order and available for you to reveal — not that we have emailed you a key.

We never send a licence key in an email. Emails link you to your order, and you reveal the key there, so a forwarded or intercepted message does not hand over your licence.

If a licence cannot be allocated automatically, your order is marked as a fulfilment exception and a person completes it. You are told when this happens rather than left waiting.

Immediate delivery and your right to withdraw

Before you pay, checkout asks you to confirm that you want immediate delivery of your licence and that you understand what that means for withdrawing from the purchase. The box is not ticked for you.

We store the exact wording you agreed to, a fingerprint of that wording, the version of the statement, and the time you accepted it. That record is kept with your order, so what you agreed to can always be established.

This does not affect your rights where a licence is faulty, will not activate, or is not what was described. Those are covered by our refunds and replacements policy and are unaffected by that confirmation.

Reaching your order and revealing your key

If you have an account, your orders and licences are in your account. If you ordered as a guest, each order email contains a private link that opens only that order and expires; you can ask support for a fresh link at any time.

Licence keys are stored encrypted and are decrypted only at the moment they are shown to you. Every reveal is recorded — when it first happened, when it last happened and how many times — which is what lets us tell a genuine fault from a key that has already been used.

If you buy as a guest and later create an account with the same email address, those earlier orders are attached to your account once the address is confirmed.

Downloads and setup guides

The installers we link to are published by the software's own vendor and are downloaded from the vendor's own website. We do not host, repackage or modify installers, and we do not distribute the vendor's software ourselves.

Those links and our setup guides are freely available on this site, including before you buy. What a purchase gives you is the licence — the download itself is the vendor's, and it is public.

A vendor may move, change or withdraw a download at any time. Where a vendor page is unavailable, our setup guides and our support team are still here.

Your responsibilities

Please check before you buy that the edition suits you: the product page states the platform, the version and how many devices or users an edition covers.

You are responsible for making sure your device meets the publisher's system requirements, for installing the software, and for keeping your own backups. We cannot advise on whether a licence is right for a setup we cannot see, though support will help where we can.

Using your licence

Your licence is used in line with the software publisher's own terms, which are between you and them.

A licence is sold for your own use. You may not resell it, publish it, share it, or offer access to it to others.

Fraud and abuse

We keep records of key allocation, reveals and administrative actions. Where an order, a payment or a replacement request appears fraudulent, we may withhold delivery, refuse a request, refund and cancel the order, or close an account.

Where a payment is reversed by the provider or the card issuer, any licence issued for that order is invalidated.

Software publishers and trademarks

Microsoft, Autodesk and every other publisher named on this site own their own names, logos and trademarks. They are used only to describe the product being sold.

Nothing on this site should be read as a partnership, sponsorship or endorsement by any publisher. We are an independent reseller.

Support

Support is available through the help page. You may reach an automated assistant first; you can ask for a person at any point and one will take over the same conversation.

Decisions about money — refunds in particular — are made by a person. They are never issued automatically by the assistant.

If something goes wrong

We are responsible for supplying a working licence for the product described, and for putting it right if we do not. Our refunds and replacements policy explains how.

We are not responsible for hardware faults, data loss, or a publisher's own service being unavailable.

Changes to these terms

The terms that apply to your order are the terms published when you placed it. Changes are not applied backwards to orders already made.
